2012. ADA Helps Bring Breakfast into the Classroom
FACT: Eating breakfast at school helps children learn. The New Jersey Department of Agriculture and New Jersey Department of Education have issued a letter to all New Jersey Schools encouraging them to find ways to increase school breakfast participation among students. Fortunately, there are several proven strategies schools can implement that will have an immediate effect on participation! While the most successful strategy is to serve "Breakfast in the Classroom", there are some other options like "Grab and Go" breakfast and "Second Chance" breakfast that can also help. The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act is now a part of the history that will shape our future. Whether we're discussing rising food costs, nutrition standards or meal patterns; addressing other provisions relating to the implementation of the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act; or enhancing the image of school nutrition, the more members SNA represents, the greater influence we have to impact these issues. That's why recruiting new members is more crucial today than ever before. Visit the SNA website at http://www.schoolnutrition.org
