HR 7085
“America’s
Right-To-Eat Rescue
Act of 2008”
Sponsored by Congressman Baca, this bill would require that the poverty line be as determined by the State of Alaska, be used for all states for a six month period, following passage.
S-3614 “National Hunger Relief Act of 2008”
Sponsored by Senator Bob Casey. The bill would provide for semi-annual reimbursement rate adjustments for all Child Nutrition Programs

Just to get an idea of the impact that Congressman Baca’s bill would have on my district, I calculated my September figures for breakfast, lunch and after school snack at the Alaska rates. The difference would be an additional $4500.00…just for September. In six months I’d be almost $30,000.00 ahead.
